Ganjam: Thousands of BJP, Congress Workers Join BJD in Gopalpur AC

Berhampur: In a further boost to the organizational strength of Biju Janata Dal ahead of crucial panchayat elections, thousands of BJP and Congress leaders and workers joined the ruling party in Rangeilunda block under Gopalpur Assembly Constituency of Ganjam district on Sunday.

Reposing faith on the strong leadership of BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his people-oriented welfare programs, Mantridi Sarapanch Prasant Das and his supporters, Golanthara Sarapanch Sasmita Jena along with her husband Prakash Jena and advocate Mrutyunjaya Moharana took the primary membership of the BJD.

Besides, several BJP and Congress workers from Biswanathpur, Padmapur and Chandapur GPs also joined the Naveen Patnaik-led party.

The new members were given a rousing welcome at a mega Mishran Parba held near Maa Bhairavi Temple kalyan mandap.

Joining the program through virtual mode, BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das said that the induction will further strengthen the party’s base in Gopalpur Assembly Constituency.

Speaking on the occasion, OSD to CM Dr. Gopabandhu Dash highlighted the political ideologies of the Chief Minister.

He said that the BJD always fights for the betterment of the people belonging to all strata of society and development of Odisha.

Under the leadership of CM Naveen Patnaik, Odisha has been witnessing transformation in all fields, he said while urging to the new members to join hands with the Chief Minister to build a new Odisha.

Senior Ganjam district BJD observer Debi Prasad Mishra and other BJD leaders attened the programme.
