Bhubaneswar: A geologist has been nabbed by the Odisha Vigilance for allegedly taking bribe from a consultant.
Ashim Nayak, Geologist, Ground Water Development (GWD) Department, O/o Dy. Director, Geology, Ground Water Development (GWD) Division, Bolangir has been arrested while taking bribe Rs.40,000 from a Consultant under Rooftop Water Harvesting Scheme, for facilitating release of consultancy fee.
Later, Rs 1.68 lakh was found during house search.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 20/2024 U/s 7 P. C.(Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress, the Vigilance said.
