Bhubaneswar: A girl student in Odisha’s Ganjam district took her own life by self-immolation.
The girl student poured petrol on herself and set ablaze inside her house in Bhetanai village under Aska block. She died of severe burn injuries following the self-immolation, as per reports.
The girl, who was pursuing her +2 at the Balipadar College, took the extreme step when no one was at her home.
When the neighbors found her charred body lying in her home, they informed the police.
The body of the deceased has been sent to hospital for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police launched an investigation into the incident, reports added.
