Sambalpur: Chief Minister released a matching contribution of 50 lakh to the Gangadhar Meher University. Two universities and 13 colleges have been provided with the matching contribution under the Mo College Abhiyan of the Govt. of Odisha.
The GMU has proposed to create an IT skill development centre out of the amount and the name of the centre will be “Dr. Narayani Panda Centre for IT Skills”. Since IT skill is an essential requirement in this age, all UG students of the university will be given compulsory IT skill training through the centre. Dr. Narayani Panda, a proud Alumnus of the institution has contributed 30 Lakh to the G.M. University under the Mo College Abhiyan. As Dr. Panda wanted her donation to be used for the larger benefits of the students, the university has proposed to construct an IT Skills centre in her name in the Amruta Vihar Campus.
In the online program of release of 1st tranche contribution today, Hon’ble Chief Minister personally appreciated Dr. Narayani Panda and thanked her for the contribution she has made to her alma mater. Vice Chancellor of G.M. University Prof. N.Nagaraju has thanked Hon’ble Chief Minsiter and the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha for the innovative program of Mo College Abhiyan and he has once again thanked Dr.Narayani Panda for her contributions to the GMU. Prof. Nagaraju has also thanked Shri Akash Dasnayak, Chairperson of the Mo College Abhiyan Sanchalan Parishad.
The program today was attended by Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education Dr.Arun Kumar Sahu, the Chairperson of Mo College Sachalan Parishad Shri Akash Dasnayak, Chief Secretary of Odisha, Development Commissioner of Odisha, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Shri Saswat Mishra, Vice Chancellors and Principals receiving the 1st tranche contributions.
Along with the Vice Chancellor, the video conference was attended by the Registrar Smt. Jugaleswari Dash, Coordinator Dr. Sikata Panda and Deputy Registrar Dr. Uma Charan Pati.
