Gopal Das Had Never Applied for Leave for Medical Treatment of Psychiatric Disorder: Minister

Bhubaneswar: Dismissed ASI Gopal Krishna Das, accused in the murder of former Health Minister late Naba Kishore Das, had never applied for leave citing medical treatment of his psychiatric disorder, informed Tusharkanti Behera, Minister of State, Home, to the Assembly on Monday.

Replaying to question of Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra, Behera told the Assembly that Gopal Das had never applied for leave citing medical treatment of his psychiatric disorder and he had never submitted any representation for his transfer. However, he remained unauthorisedly absent from duty for the period from 03.02.2014 to 03.04.2014.

Gopal Das submitted his fitness certificate along with medical treatment papers of MKCG, Medical College, Berhampur pertaining to his treatment for psychiatric disorder (Bipolar Affective Disorder). He again remained unauthorisedly absent from duty for the period from 01.03.2015 to 27.06.2015. He submitted his fitness certificate along with medical treatment papers of MKCG, Medical College, Berhampur pertaining to his treatment for psychiatric disorder (Bipolar Affective Disorder), the Minister told the Assembly.
