Govt Schools in Bhubaneswar to Have Two Prayer Classes Everyday

Bhubaneswar: All state-run schools in the capital city will have two prayer classes every day, said the Odisha School & Mass Education Department.

The two-time prayer classes will be compulsory for the students in primary, upper primary and high schools in Bhubaneswar from today, the Department said.

As per the decision, the students will take part in prayer session at 4 pm post the end of their classes along with the usual 10 am session.

The new rule has been framed to make the children more disciplined.

“Earlier, the process was being followed in a few schools. The initiative for conducting two-time prayer a day has been implemented in all government schools in Bhubaneswar with aim to make students more disciplined”, School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.

The new system would be implemented in other parts of the State in future, he added.
