GPLF Mission Shakti Workers Launch Massive Protest Demanding Release of Pending Salary

Bhubaneswar: Thousands of women working as supports staffs in Mission Shakti program launched a massive protest here demanding release of their pending salary.

The Master Book Keepers (MBK), Bank Mitras, Krishi Mitras, and Prani Mitras held the agitation under the banner of All Odisha GPLF (Gram Panchayat Level Federation) Mission Shakti Workers Front at Lower PMG square in the capital city to protest non-payment of salaries.

The protesters raised the issues of pending wages and salaries for nine months. They alleged that their salaries have been withheld since April, leaving them uncertain about supporting their families.

They further alleged that they are yet to receive the pending salaries despite assurances from Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.

Meanwhile, the opposition Biju Janata Dal raised the issue in the Legislative Assembly, seeking immediate release of salaries of GPLF Mission Shakti workers.
