Malkangiri: A hardcore Maoist involved in multiple crimes was arrested by the security forces from Tulsi reserve forest under Mathili PS limits in Malkangiri district.
The Maoist has been identified as Laxman Podiami alias Chhota Laxman, a resident of Chandametta, Chhatisgarh.
He has been a party member of Mahupadar LOS (DKSZC) of the banned CPI (Maoist).
During a joint operation of SOG and DVF in Kangerghati (Tulsi) area, the Maoist was apprehended, along with a country made rifle, Malkangiri police said.
Laxman Podiami was involved in multiple civilian murders and anti establishment activities. There is a cash reward in his name in Odisha and Chhatisgarh.
He was forwarded to the court, the police said while appealing to Maoists to lay down their arms and join mainstream.
