Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today addressed the people of Odisha and thanked them for their cooperation in the fight against Covid-19. In a video message released, Naveen said that “Odisha is in a good position in controlling Covid-19 because of the cooperation of the people of Odisha.
The World Health Organisation has also appreciated our efforts in this direction. Our daily infection rate has gone down to less than one hundred and zero infection is our aim. But I again say that when it comes diseases, self satisfaction is not good because the danger is still not out.
The situation in Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh today is getting bad. Lockdown has returned in some places of Maharashtra. We still have the memories of lockdown with us. Our economy, social life, children’s education everything was affected badly due to it.
Because of your sacrifice and cooperation we are today in a normal situation. We don’t want to return to the lockdown situation and the only way for this is we should be alert. If we remain alert, there will be no lockdown situation. I request, we should all continue to adhere to the Covid Guidelines as earlier. Wearing mask when we go out, not just for name sake, we should wear the mask properly covering the mouth and nose, washing our hands with soap when we return to our homes from outside. We should not touch our face, nose and eyes again and again, should maintain social distancing when we go put to markets and should not visit them unnecessarily.
Now, Corona vaccination is successfully going on in our state. I urge your cooperation in this regard. We have lost a number of Corona fighters and their family members have not yet come out of that grief. We should not let their sacrifices go in vain and staying alert against Covid-19 will be our greatest respects to them.
I have ordered the administration and police to implementation the Corona Guidelines effectively and strictly. We should remain aware and alert on our own. I have full faith in you that you will keep my request and stay alert. Together we will achieve the aim of zero infection. Bande Utkal Janani.
