Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has strongly condemned the violent JNU attack and said that violence has no space in democracy.

“Shocked to know about the violent JNU attack”, the CM tweeted.

Violence erupted at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Sunday night after masked men armed with sticks attacked students and teachers and vandalised property on the campus.

Around 40 students, all from Left-backed groups, and 12 teachers were injured.

The Left students and the ABVP, the student wing linked to the BJP, have accused each other of involvement in the attack.
