Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP and DG Fire Services BK Sharma was removed from his post after a probe was initiated against him.
The Odisha Government took the decision to remove Sharma from his post for allegedly irregularities in allotment of fire safety certificates to industries during Sharma’s incumbency as the Director-General of Fire Services, according to sources.
As per reports, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered an inquiry against Sharma.
A three member team comprising Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner and Home Secretary has been constituted to investigate the allegations.
Sharma has been replaced by IPS Abhay as new DGP.
Abhay is currently posted as Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy.
