Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will implement the Vehicle Scrappage Policy to phase out old and unfit vehicles.

Informing this, Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera said that the State Government would implement the Vehicle Scrappage Policy introduced by the Centre to phase out vehicles over 15 years old.

“Vehicles over 15 years old will be phased out to keep them off roads. We have a list of old vehicles which need scrapping. A decision will be taken as per Centre’s scheme,” the Minister said.

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the new scrappage policy, under which, the cars and commercial vehicles which are older than 20 or 15 years, respectively will be phased out to reduce urban pollution levels and boost automotive sales.
