Puri: The results of Pipili bypoll have proved that the people have reposed their faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his party Biju Janata Dal.
Naveen Patnaik’s people-oriented development agenda has once again won the hearts and minds of the people.
The Chief Minister’s clean image and people-focused development programmes have ensured a landslide victory for the BJD in the crucial Pipili bypoll with impressive margins.
The BJD has registered candid victories in the three by-elections within a year including the much-hyped Pipili election.
The BJD had won the Tritol and Balasore Sadar bypolls last year with overwhelming margins. The party sealed an easy victory in Pipili.
With this, the ruling party has six emphatic victories in Pipli in the political history of Odisha.
The results of Pipili by-election will go a long way in boosting BJD’s prospects in the upcoming Panchayat and urban local body eelections.
BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik has promised to take care of development of Pipli personally. In view of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation, Naveen did not visit Pipli for campaigning. Despite this, the BJD retained the prestigious Pipli seat with big margin. It shows the strong leadership and popularity of Naveen Patnaik.
On the other hand, the BJP’s hope to win the Pipili seat remained a distant dream. The BJP had lined up star campaigners like Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other heavyweights.
Under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik, the BJD has not faced defeat in any by-election in the recent past. During campaign trail, the BJP leaders asserted the Pipli by-election results would have impacts on the 2024 elections. The results of Pipili by-election is now clear and self-explanatory.
Meanwhile, the Congress repeated its dismal performance in the election.
