High School Transformation Programme: 5T Secy Reaches Hinjilicut, to Visit Schools

Berhampur: Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today reached Hinjilicut block in Odisha’s Ganjam district to review the progress of the High School Transformation Programme ahead of its launch.

Pandian is expected to visit as many as 23 high schools in Hinjilicut block, which are part of the Transformation Programme under 5T initiative.

The 5T Secretary will take stock of progress of the project in these schools.

He will hold discussions with Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange, district administration officials and other stakeholders, such as teachers, students, alumnus and community members, about the ambitious project.

He is expected to visit Sheragada block tomorrow to review of implementation of the High School Transformation Programme.

As many as 133 government-run high schools, including 22 Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, in Ganjam district are set to get a facelift under the High School Transformation project of the government’s 5-T initiative.

The programme aims at improving the quality of the existing infrastructure. World-class interactive and smart classrooms, e-library-cum reading rooms and modern science laboratories will be set up in each of the selected schools. The students of Classes IX and X will be given priority as far as e-learning is concerned.

Apart from safe and pure drinking water and clean toilets in schools, the project also envisages better playgrounds for children complete with sports facilities. The walls of these schools will also be painted based on educative and interesting themes.

The project is being carried out with the involvement of the local communities, the school management development bodies and the alumnus.
