IIFA Awards 2019: Best Actor Award to Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt Bags Best Actress

New Delhi: The 20th edition of the IIFA Awards (International Indian Film Academy Awards, one of the biggest Bollywood award shows,  was held in Mumbai’s Dome, NSCI, SVP Stadium.

Hosted by Ayushmann Khurrana, the event featured sensational performances by Salman Kham, Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal among others.

Alia Bhatt’s Raazi was awarded the Best Film while the 26-year-old actress, who was critically acclaimed for portraying the role of a spy in the espionage drama, took home the Best Actress IIFA Award.

• Lifetime achievement award – Jagdeep
• The Best Film in the last 20 years – Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
• Best Direction in the last 20 years – Rajkumar Hirani
• Best Music director in the last 20 years – Pritam
• Best Story award – Sriram Raghavan, Pooja Ladha Surti, Arijit Biswas, Yogesh Chandekar and Hemanth Rao for Andhadhun
• Best Music award – Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (Amaal Malik, Rochak Kohli and Yo Yo Honey Singh received the award)
• Best Lyrics award – Amitabh Bhattacharya for “Dhadak”
• Best Playback Singer Male – Arijit Singh for “Ae Watan” from Raazi
• Best Playback Singer Female – Harshdeep Kaur and Vibha Saraf for “Dilbaro” from Raazi
