Bhubaneswar: In a first for India, an IL 76 aircraft from China carrying Oxygen cylinders has landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport today. The freighter from China landed in Bhubaneswar directly carrying Oxygen cylinders. The consignment is part of the imports made by the Government of Odisha to develop Oxygen security in the state. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the authorities that no patient shall suffer for want of oxygen in Odisha.
In the short term, the Odisha Government is ensuring efficient distribution to all medical institutions and developing reserves of oxygen cylinders. In fact, in the last two months, more than 14000 additional cylinders were added. With today’s import and further consignments, the coming situation will become better.
