New Delhi: India has reported less than 30,000 fresh positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
According to the Union Heath Ministry, the country has recorded 27,071 new corona infections taking the tally of total cases to 98,84,100.
The death toll has mounted to 1,43,355 after 336 patients succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours.
Currently, there are 3,52,586 active cases in the country. Total recovered cases now stand at 93,88,159 with 30,695 new discharged in the last 24 hours.
India reported one of the lowest cases per million population in the world (158) in the last 7 days; much lower than many other countries of the Western Hemisphere, the Health Ministry said.
New cases reported per million population in the world in the past seven days were 553. France reported 1,252 cases, Russia had 1,330, Brazil reported 1,387, United Kingdom with 1,753, Italy had 1,934, and USA reported 4,310 Covid-19 cases per million population during the same period.
