London: A confident India will look to defeat New Zealand and book a final berth when the two sides face-off in the 1st semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the Old Trafford in Manchester today.
Two-time champions India, whose league stage match against New Zealand was washed out, have suffered just one defeat at this World Cup so far, against England, and ended on top of the 10-team group stage, making them strong favourites to beat the Black Caps.
New Zealand, who only qualified for the semi-finals in fourth place on the basis of net run-rate, have lost their last three games — against Pakistan, holders Australia and England.
India and New Zealand faced each other in 106 ODI matches. Out of 106 matches, India has won 55 matches while New Zealand has won 45 matches. In the ICC cricket world cup seven matches have been played between the two teams out of which India has won 3 while New Zealand won 4 matches.
