India’s COVID-19 Caseload Reaches 63-lakh Mark with 86,821 New Cases

New Delhi: With an addition of 86,821 coronavirus cases and 1,181 deaths in 24 hours, India’s coronavirus caseload reached 63,12,584 on Thursday.

Active COVID-19 cases in country stand at 9,40,705, while 52,73,201 people have recovered from the disease, stated the Union Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll in the country mounted to 98,678.

While the recovery rate stands at 83.53 per cent, the fatality rate has come down to 1.56 per cent, the Health Ministry added.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit with a total of 13,84,446 cases, including 36,662 deaths; followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the word has crossed 33.8 million, while the deaths have increased to nearly 1,012,900, as per the data given by the Johns Hopkins University.
