India’s COVID-19 Cases Drop Below 40K Mark First Time after 3 Months

New Delhi: India has registered less than 40,000 new cases of COVID-19 in a single day after more than three months.

The country has reported 36,469 new infections on Monday, the lowest number of daily caseload since July 17. The daily caseload on July 17 was 35,065.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country stand at 79,46,429 including 6,25,857 active cases and 72,01,070 recoveries.

With 488 new fatalities in last 24 hours, the COVID-19 death toll jumped to 1,19,502, according to the Health Ministry data.
