India’s Youngest MP Narrates her Ordeal, Accuses OTV Promoters of Saving its Reporter

Bhubaneswar: Chandrani Murmu, the youngest Member of Parliament from Keonjhar constituency, who happens to be a tribal unmarried woman today accused that she has been mentally harassed and tortured by the Odisha TV (OTV) reporters and others who allegedly made viral of her morphed obscene video with a malicious intention to defame her.

In a video statement, the 27-year old tribal leader said “Police during investigation arrested an OTV reporter along with others. The OTV reporter named Ramesh Rath as the perpetrator of the crime. But when the police questioned OTV reporter Rath yesterday, the OTV promoters are trying to save him by claiming that this is an attack on the OTV and its journalists by the Government”, Murmu alleged.

The tribal mechanical engineering graduate further asked  OTV promoter Jagi Mangat Panda, wife of Baijayant Panda, if a daughter from their family was in her place and a morphed obscene video had been circulated, had they been saved a person like Ramesh Rath?

She further alleged that both the Jagi Panda and Baijayant Panda are friends with powerful people in Delhi, and they are using their connection to run stories that OTV reporter Ramesh Rath  who was questioned by the police is an attack on media and journalism.

The tribal MP again asked the national media that if a daughter or a sister’s morphed obscene video made viral by a journalist, would they pardon that journalist, because he is a journo?

She further asked in her video that has any journalist get immunity from police action.
