Bhubaneswar: Low-cost carrier IndiGo has received the approval of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to launch direct flight service from Bhubaneswar to Varanasi from next month.
As per reports, the flight service will be commenced daily from February 29.
The flight will leave Bhubaneswar at 9 pm and reach at Varanasi at 11.55 pm. It will depart Varanasi at 6.45 pm and arrive at Bhubaneswar Airport at 8.40 pm.
IndiGo will be engaging an ATR flight on this route.
Notably, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier demanded the inclusion of Bhubaneswar in Air India’s Varanasi-Colombo circuit in order to promote Buddhist tourism and boost tourist footfalls.
