New Delhi: Rishi Sunak, the son-in-law of Infosys Co-founder NR Narayana Murthy, has been appointed as Finance Minister of the UK.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson named 39-year-old Rishi Sunak as Finance Minister after Sajid Javid’s resignation.
“The Queen has been graciously pleased to approve the appointment of Rt Hon Rishi Sunak as Chancellor of the Exchequer,” Downing Street said in the official announcement.
Sunak studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University and did MBA from Stanford University.
He becomes the second-youngest Chancellor in modern British history after George Osborne, who was 38 when he took the role in 2010.
