Dhenkanal: An FIR has been lodged against Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Dhenkanal for insulting the National Flag. The FIR has been filed by the General Secretary of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal Sanjib Kumar Prusty at the Town Police Station against Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, senior BJP leaders Kanak Vadhan Singhdeo, Manmohan Samal, Krushak Morcha President Pradeep Purohit and others for disrespecting the national flag at the Krushak Samabesh held in the Mini stadium on Saturday.
In the FIR, the complainant has said that it is a blatant abuse of the National Flag Code in the presence of a number of senior leaders present on the occasion.
The organizers had put up a large National Flag as a roof for the Krushak Samabesh meeting which is an insult to the Tricolour. He also appealed for exemplary punishment to the perpetrators.
