Dubai: Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to register a 44-run victory in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at Dubai International Stadium, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 25. Prithvi Shaw’s brilliant half-century and a superb bowling performance from Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje helped Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings.

MS Dhoni wins toss as Chennai Super Kings opt to bowl first vs Delhi Capitals. While Prithvi Shaw’s fiery 64 off 43 balls (9 fours and 1 six) helped Delhi Capitals reach 175 in their 20 overs,

Chasing 176 to win, Chennai Super Kings got off to a poor start as they lost both their openers Faf du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav stitched a decent partnership to keep CSK hopes alive in the game. Anrich Nortje dismissed Jadhav to hand his side a crucial breakthrough. MS Dhoni walked in to bat in the 16th over when 78 were needed off 26 balls. He was dismissed for 15 off 12 balls in the final over. Nortje and Rabada bowled brilliantly towards the end to seal the massive for their side.

For the second time in succession, CSK left themselves with too much to do in the run chase. Clearly, CSK need Dhoni to do more with the bat in the coming games.
