IPL 2020: DC Vs RCB – Delhi Capitals Beat Royal Challengers Bangalore By 6 Wickets, Both Qualify For Playoffs

Abu Dhabi: Delhi Capitals today defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets in 55th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. A calm and composed innings from Ajinkya Rahane and a handy bowling performance from Anrich Nortje helped Delhi Capitals to qualify for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 play-offs at number two position.

Asking Royal Challengers Bangalore to bat first, Delhi Capitals did a good job with the ball and restricted them to just 152 runs in their 20 overs. DC were led by Anrich Nortje who picked up three crucial wickets in his four overs to jolt RCB’s innings. Nortje was well supported by Ashwin and Rabada, who picked up one and two wickets respectively.

For Royal Challengers Bangalore, Devdutt Padikkal was the only star with the bat as the 20-year-old scored his fifth IPL 50. Several other batsmen, including Virat Kohli (29 off 24 balls) and AB de Villiers (35 off 21 balls), got initial starts but were not able to convert them into big innings.

Delhi Capitals’ batting, Prithvi Shaw’s poor form continued as he was dismissed cheaply once again. However, Shikhar Dhawan (54 off 41 balls) made sure that his side stays in the hunt. He was well supported by Ajinkya Rahane, who announced his return to form and smashed a brilliant 60 off 46 balls to take his side home.

The only bowler who looked dangerous for Royal Challengers Bangalore was Shahbaz Ahmed. Ahmed picked up two crucial wickets in four overs and gave just 26 runs. Surprisingly, Yuzvendra Chahal failed to perform for RCB in this and gave 29 runs in his four overs without picking up a wicket.
