IPL 2020: Dhoni Confirms Playing For CSK In IPL 2021

Abu Dhabi: Dhoni confirmed on Sunday that Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is ‘certainly’ not his last season with the Chennai Super Kings. It is confirmed.

After Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bowl against Kings XI Punjab at the Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi, former cricketer and commentator Danny Morrison asked MS Dhoni whether it was his last game. MS Dhoni was quick to respond: ‘Definitely not’. Those two words have certainly come as a huge relief as well as a delight for fans of Chennai Super Kings after the 3-time winner’s surprisingly ordinary season in IPL 2020.

However, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan, expressed confidence that MS Dhoni would continue playing for the franchise even in IPL 2022. “We can expect MS Dhoni to be part of both (IPL 2020 and 2021) and probably for even the next year. 2022,” Viswanathan had said.

CSK have had their worst season ever this year and are set to finish at the bottom of the table. It is the first time that the three-time champions have not made the play-offs, showing their remarkable consistency over the years.
