ITI Berhampur Achieves Milestone, Now Part of MSDE’s Working Group for Branding of ITIs in Country

Berhampur: The Odisha Government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Berhampur has achieved yet another milestone by becoming the part of the Working Group formed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) to develop strategies for the branding of ITIs in the country.

The Directorate General of Training (National Project Implementation Unit) of MSDE has formed the Working Group, which will formulate the national branding plan for marketing and branding for ITI.

The Principal of ITI Berhampur Dr. Rajat Kumar Panigrahi is one of the core members of the Working Group.

The group comprises Director RDSDE, West Bengal, Chairman; Representative of Director (TC) Member, Convenor; Representative from State Directorate, Maharashtra, Member; Representative from State Directorate, HP, Member; Representative from State Directorate, Telangana, Member; Principal Ajmal Rural Technology, Hojai, Assam, Member; Principal, Don Bosco Pvt ITI, Kuria, Member; Principal, Govt ITI, Behrampur, Odisha, Member and Principal, Govt ITI, Kurukshetra, Member.

The Working Group will develop the strategies and approaches for reaching out to schools in order to increase the admissions under vocational education and training.

It will study the overall admission process by taking feedback from ITI Principals and other stakeholders and provide qualitative inputs and suggestions for improving the process. It will also study various ways to make online admission more user friendly in order to overcome any barriers (such as regional and other quotas), according to the MSDE.
