Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s conjoined twins – Jaga and Kalia – who were separated after a surgery two years ago would be shifted to SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack on September 7 from AIIMS, New Delhi.
This has been informed by Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das on Thursday.
The twins will board Rajdhani Express on September 6 at New Delhi and reach Bhubaneswar the next day.
The twins, who were born with their heads joined, are presently under the treatment of a team of specialist doctors at AIIMS, New Delhi since their separation in a marathon 12- hour surgery in October 25, 2017.
The treatment of twins was possible due to the special intervention of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
The Odisha government had taken care of the treatment cost of the twins.
All arrangements are in place at the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack for proper treatment of Jaga and Kalia, sources said.
