Jagdeep Dhankhar Becomes New Vice President of India

New Delhi: NDA candidate and former West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar won the Vice Presidential election held at the Parliament House here on Saturday.

Dhankhar got 528 votes and Margaret Alva got 128 votes in the election. At least 15 votes were invalid.

The Vice President will take the oath of office on August 11, as the term of the incumbent Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu ends on August 10.
