Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) announced that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main will be conducted in 11 languages including Odia from 2021.
The MHRD has asked the conducting agency National Testing Agency (NTA) to make the necessary arrangements.
In a notification, the Ministry has directed the NTA to conduct the test in at least 11 languages which include Odia, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and English.
The decision will help the students to opt for schooling in vernacular medium instead of shifting their focus to study in English medium schools.
At present, the JEE (Main) for admission into B.Tech and undergraduate architecture courses in the premier educational institutions like NITs and IIITs is offered in three languages — English, Hindi and Gujarati.
