Keonjhar: There is a deep correlation between the aesthetics and the quality of learning in schools. A good environment often inculcates positive attitude, which leads to a great learning experience for the children. Our schools should also strive to provide a beautiful learning experience for children, in addition to imparting quality education.
The connection between comfortable school furniture and increased learning and development of children in classrooms reveals that high quality child-friendly school furniture is essential for children’s ability to learn.
A novel attempt has been made by the Keonjhar District Administration to enhance the learning experience of children, right from the anganwadi center where children attend their pre-schooling.
Considering this, the district administration in the first phase has installed child-friendly furniture in 356 anganwadi centers in mining affected areas. Supported by DMF Keonjhar, the project is implemented at a cost around Rs 1 crore.
“This is a step to make the atmosphere of AWC more lively. Having such child-friendly furniture will help in overall growth of child and inculcate new habits”, says Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare.
The project will be expanded across the district gradually, he added.
The furniture is of highest quality and designed in a manner keeping safety of the pre-school children at the highest priority. The overall installation program was conducted during the lock down period. The furniture has changed the entire look and feel of the AWCs and brought happiness and excitement amongst the children and their parents.
