Bhubaneswar: The beneficiaries of KALIA scheme will get two installments amounting Rs 10,000 of financial assistance on May 29, the day fifth Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will be formed in Odisha, sources said.

During election campaigns, the Chief Minister promised to provide two installments of financial assistance to the pending beneficiaries of the KALA scheme the day his party forms government in the state.

The promise came after the KALIA scheme was stopped midway due to conspiracy by the BJP-led Central Government.

Soon after the oath-taking ceremony, the CM is likely to allot 20 ministerial berths among the party leaders. A meeting of the new Cabinet will also be convened on the same day to outline strategies to fulfill the commitments made in the 2019 poll manifesto in the next five years, sources said.
