Phulbani: A block public health officer has come under the scanner of vigilance department for allegedly accepting bribe in the Community Health Center (CHC) at Phiringia in Kandhamal district.
Dr. Nisith Nisank Malu, Block Public Health Officer, CHC, Phiringia has been caught red handed by the officers of Berhampur Vigilance Division while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.7,000 from a worker of the same CHC.
Dr. Malu demanded the bribe for passing RCM & TA bills of Benupani Digal, MPHS(male), CHC, Phiringia amounting to Rs 41,900 and threatening to stop payment of his upcoming bills .
The bribe money has been recovered from the accused health officer and his residential quarter at Phiringia is being searched, informed Berhampur Vigilance Division SP Santanu Kumar Padhi.
