Bhubaneswar: The vigilance officials on Friday apprehended an ABEO in Kendrapara district for allegedly taking bribe from a teacher.
Bipin Bihari Singh, ABEO of Derabish Block has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5000 from an assistant teacher to release his held over pay.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at the locations of Singh, the vigilance informed.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.35/22, U/s7PCAct,1988 as amended by PC amendment Act 2018 has been registered against the ABEO.
Investigation is in progress in the matter, the Odisha Vigilance stated.
