Keonjhar: Bringing laurels to the State, the Keonjhar district administration has received the SKOCH Gold Award 2022 for the Agriculture Production Cluster (APC) program under Deputy Director Horticulture.
The district administration has bagged the prestigious award in the ‘District Governance’ category.
With an aim to double the small and marginal women farmers income, the APC is covering 39,000 women farmers in all 13 blocks in Keonjhar district.
The programme facilitates PGs for sustainability by ensuring synchronized production, linkage with stakeholders to optimize production and access different livelihood support infrastructures.
The project is supported by DMF Keonjhar.
Earlier today, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Department, Keonjhar Collector Ashish Thakare and other officials visited Kalyani PG in Harichandanpur block to take stock of the APC project.
While appreciating, the officials emphasized on spreading the benefits of APC project to more number of families.
Inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in November 2018, the project focuses to empower small and marginal women farmers by doubling their income sustainability though collectivisation and synchronised production in backward blocks of the State.
