Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday apprehended a senior clerk at the office of District Ayurveda Medical Officer, Keonjhar for allegedly accepting bribe from a Ayurvedic Assistant.
The senior clerk has been identified as Debasis Mohapatra.
Mohapatra has been caught by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting bribe Rs. Rs.5000 from a complainant (Ayurvedic Asst.) for drawl and processing of arrear salary bill.
Earlier, Mohapatra had demanded Rs.15,000 from the complainant. While receiving bribe Rs.5,000 as advance, Mohapatra, was nabbed by the Vigilance team.
In this connection, BLS Vig PS Case No.26/2023 U/s 7 P.C. (Amd) Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress, the Vigilance said.
