Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday nabbed a junior engineer of Khordha block in Khordha district for allegedly taking bribe from a contractor.
The JE has been identified as Sangeeta Mohapatra.
Mohapatra has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance in her office while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a contractor for passing final bills for release of payment in connection with a development work executed by the contractor.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from the possession of Mohapatra.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Mohapatra from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No- 7/2024 U/s- 7 PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused JE.
