Khurda-Bolangir Rly Project Hangs on Uncertainty, Min Says No Time-frame Can be Given for Completion

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said that no confirmed time-frame can be given for completion of Khurda Road-Bolangir New Line project.

Replying to question of BJD MP Achyutananda Samanta that why there has been an inordinate delay in completion of the railway project work from Khurda to Bolangir, Goyal said in the Lok Sabha that the timely completion of any Railway project depends on various factors.

“Various factors like quick land acquisition, forest clearance, shifting of infringing utilities, statutory clearances, geological and topographical conditions, law and order situation in the project site, among others are responsible for timely completion of any railway project,” Goyal said

Since complete land including forest clearances has not been handed over to Railway, no confirmed time-frame can be given for completion of Khurda -Bolangir project at this stage,” he added.
