Bhubaneswar: Former Congress MLA and popular leader of Kotpad in Koraput District Chandra Sekhar Majhi has joined the Biju Janata Dal. Chandra Sekhar who resigned from the Congress yesterday, joined the BJD in the presence of senior party leaders Pranab Prakash Das, Pratap Deb, Subash Singh, Ramesh Majhi and Rabi Nanda among others. A large number of Congress workers also joined the BJD along with Chandra Sekhar today.
Chandra Sekhar was the MLA from Kotpad from 2014 to 2019 but lost to Padmini Dian with a small margin. He remains a popular leader in the area and will help Biju Janata Dal in further strengthening its presence in Koraput district.
