Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday flagged off the LAccMI Bus service in five more districts – Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Nuapada and Boudh through video conferencing.
With this, the LAccMI Bus service has now covered all 30 districts of Odisha.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the LAccMI Bus service will make social and cultural programs more effective in all the villages of the state and will bring economic growth.
The people of the village can do their daily work conveniently and at low cost by using LAccMI Bus service. The LAccMI Bus service will ease our journey of life, bring prosperity to our homes, the CM added.
A total 255 buses operated in 1057 Panchayats in these five districts benefiting more than 71 lakh people. As many as 48 buses ran in 315 Panchayats in Balasore. The scheme benefited over 20.42 lakh people in the district. 25 buses were introduced in 123 Panchayats of Nuapada and 5.74 lakh people were benefited. Similarly, 10 buses operated in 55 Panchayats of Boudh district benefiting 3.53 lakh people, according to an official release.
In Ganjam district, a total of 130 buses have been deployed in 433 GPs, which benefited 34.47 lakh people and 42 buses operated in 131 GPs in Jagatsinghpur district benefiting 7.50 lakh people.
With this, the LAccMI Bus Yojana has been implemented in all 30 districts of Odisha. As many as 1354 buses have started running in 30 districts benefiting 3.64 crore people of 6031 Panchayats. It is worth noting that a total of 1745 buses will run in all the Panchayats of the state.
In this innovative scheme, which has been launched under the 5T initiatives of the State Government, the Mission Shakti members have been given the responsibility of managing the bus service.
The CM further said that he respects people’s wishes and all programmes of his government are based on the opinion of the people. After the 5T Chairman and CMO’s district visit, we felt the needs of the people and following the suggestions of the people, LAccMI Bus Yojana was prepared to solve the communication problem of the people of the village, said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister asserted that the LAccMI bus service will play an important role in strengthening the economy of the village.
Mentioning the recently launched Shri Jagannath Express Bus Service in this scheme, the Chief Minister said that Shri Jagannath Express Bus Service has been started for the darshan of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath and to experience the Srimandir Parikrama Project. The bus ticket price for women has been halved.
The Chief Minister further said that the LAccMI Bus will connect people to people and strengthen social and economic life, take the child to school and college and connect farmers to markets. He said that women and students can travel in this bus for only 5 rupees.
Ministers Tukuni Sahu, Aswini Kumar Patro, Rajendra Dholakia. and Pradip Kumar Amat, Government Chief Whip Prasanta Kumar Muduli, MP Rajashree Mallick MLAs Swarup Kumar Das, Mahidhar Rana, Latika Pradhan and Bikarm Kumar Panda attended the programme at different districts.
