Berhampur: The largest Odisha map sculpture of the country was inaugurated here on the occasion of Local Self Government Day on Tuesday.
The 4-ton scrap, 28 ft long and 24 ft width Odisha map sculpture was designed and developed by the students of Government ITI Berhampur.
The scrap sculpture is the largest in the country and steps will be taken to place it in Asia Book of Records, the ITI Berhampur said.
It was inaugurated in the presence of Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, BeMC Commissioner Dr. Siddeshwar Baliram Bondar and Berhampur Sub-Collector Keerthi Vasan V.
Fitter welder trade students of ITI Berhampur with the help of their teachers have designed this wonderful sculpture for the first time outside the campus.
The Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) has provided the cost of raw material. The institute has provided the free skill of their students.
More such products will be placed in the city if we are asked, said Dr Panigrahy principal ITI Berhampur.
