Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Bolangir district has achieved an important milestone by securing the second position in the overall category of Delta Rankings Given by the NITI Aayog. The apex planning body has released data on the basis of performance between June and July 2019. The NITI Aayog has also rewarded the district for its performance by giving additional allocation of Rs 2 crores. NITI Aayog has also congratulated the district team led by the Collector Arindam Dakua for achieving the success. Earlier, Bolangir was rewarded in the Health and Nutrition of March-April Delta rankings of 2019.
Bolangir has done exceptionally good development work in all the five categories of the rankings that include Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Skill Development. The district has secured first position in developing Basic Infrastructure.
Another district from Odisha, Dhenkanal has also done well in the Financial Inclusion and Skill Development category by achieving the first position in the rankings. NITI Aayog has granted an additional grant of Rs three crores to the district for the achievement.
The Delta Rankings measure the incremental progress made by the districts across five developmental areas. From the beginning, Odisha has done well in many parameters of development and has received accolades from the NITI Aayog.
