Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has launched the LAccMI Bus Yojana in Nabarangpur district. The scheme was first started in Malkangiri. It has facility of bus service from panchayat to block. More than 1000 buses will run across the State under this innovative scheme.
The Mission Shakti Mothers have been given the responsibility of managing the bus. Under this scheme, women, students and people with disabilities can travel from village to block for just 5 rupees.
In Nabarangpur district, 44 buses will connect all panchayats in 10 blocks.
Addressing the people of Nabarangpur district, the Chief Minister said, “Transportation in remote areas is a big problem. LAccMI Yojana was started after he came to know about the problem of movement of people from district visit of Chief Minister’s Office. Your village has now been included in the LAccMI Yojana transit and transport system. The Chief Minister said that this will strengthen the social relations in the rural areas and the economy will also improve.
The Chief Minister said, “Communication is the basis of development. The LAccMI Bus Yojana will connect everyone with development. It will transform our transit and transportation system. It will connect one village to another. People’s social relations will be strengthened”.
“The bus will come near your house and your children can now go to school and college with ease. The scheme will connect farmers to their markets. Hospitalisation of patients will be facilitated. Laxmi buses will be your charioteer in various works by providing facilities in the field of transit, he added.
Stating that he has paid special attention to Nabarangpur, the Chief Minister said that now a lot of work is going on for infrastructure development in Nabarangpur. Roads, bridges, irrigation, mega pipe drinking water supply projects, Millet Mission, and many other works are going on. He assured that there will be a massive transformation in the district in the next 3 years.
Speaking on this occasion, Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu said, “On the first Thursday of the month of Margasira, when we are all worshiping Maa Laxmi and wishing everyone happiness and prosperity, the Chief Minister has brought Laxmi to our home today. Transportation services have arrived at the doorstep today”.
Odisha has seen massive changes in various fields. There has been a transformation, especially in the condition of mothers. Looking back 30 years, no one thought about the changes that have taken place in the status of mothers today. The credit for this transformation of mothers belongs only to the Chief Minister, she said.
