Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated a slew of projects under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation on the occasion of Local Self-Government Day.
The projects include offices in each of the 67 Wards of BMC. The ward offices of the BMC will bring services more nearer to the people and help provide better services to residents of Bhubaneswar.
The steps to establish the local ward offices have been taken under the 5-T initiative that promises people centric development. On this occasion the Integrated Public Service Centre (IPSC) and Ward Office at Sahid Nagar and other online services were also launched by the Chief Minister through Video Conferencing. Housing and Urban Development Minster Pratap Jena, Secretary 5-T Innitiatives V.K Pandian, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, G Mathivathanan and other senior officials were present on the occasion. Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda was present at the IPSC Saheed Nagar during the launching.
On the occasion of local self governance day, the Chief Minister also launched the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited’s Ebpass online system through which citizens can apply for approval of house plans that come in the low risk category. The plans will be approved within 48 hours of application.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated fifteen new parks in the capital city which will provide the much needed green space. In order to develop the idea of local decomposition of compostable garbage, the BMC has put up Micro Composting Centers in various places of the City.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 40 such Micro Composting Centres to be built at a cost of 32 crore rupees for effective management of solid waste in the City. Besides, the foundation stone for 11 new drain projects were also laid. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the various development programs through Video Conferencing from the conference hall of Lok Seva Bhavan.
