Lunar Eclipse: Rationalists, Ritualists Clash over Consumption of Cooked Food in Berhampur, Bhubaneswar 

Berhampur/Bhubaneswar: The rationalists and ritualists have clashed over consumption of cooked food on lunar eclipse in Berhampur and Bhubaneswar.

In Berhampur, the religious groups and ritualists have strongly protested the community feast programme organized by the rationalists at the City High School Road stating it hurts the sentiments of Hindus and defames Hindu tradition as no food should be consumed during the eclipse.

The members of the Bajrang Dal, VHP, Brahmin Samaj and other religious groups stormed the venue to clean the place by splashing cow dung. They had a scuffle with rationalists.

The police rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control.

A similar situation prevailed at Lohia Academy in Bhubaneswar where the religious groups had protested the biryani feast organized by the rationalists, as per reports.
