Mahatma Death Row: Show Cause Notice to Officials for Wrong Insertion in Booklet

Bhubaneswar: Taking  strong note on the controversy related wrong insertion of information in a booklet on Mahatma Gandhi,  the Odisha Government has issued a show-cause notice  to two officials while the person responsible for preparing the booklet has been ousted. 

This was informed by School and Mass Education Minister Samir Das on Saturday.

Besides, the government has also withdrawn the brochure and the new brochure will come out within a month.

Moreover, Das has directed all DEOs, DPCs and BEOs to withdraw and destroy all soft copies and booklets in which wrong and misleading information regarding Mahatma Gandhi’s death was published.
In the wake of the furore over the booklet, a probe was ordered to ascertain the circumstances that led to its publication by the School and Mass Education department for distribution in state-run and state-aided schools.

Earlier, speaker Surya Narayan Patro on Friday had asked the state government to come out with a statement in Vidhan Sabha on Saturday regarding the issue.
