Brahmagiri: A container career ship along with the towing vessel has been stranded off the Chilika Coast near to Rajhanse Island in Odisha. The ships were destined to Visakhapatnam Port and were coming from Malaysia.
Reportedly the container career had developed some snag and after being hit with bad weather in the Bay of Bengal.
The stranded ship has ten Malaysian and one Bangladeshi nationals in it.

The local administration and the forest department are keeping an eye on the ship and investigation is on.
In a tweet, the CEO of Chilika Development Authority has said that “A vessel and a container that it was towing, has been grounded off the coast of Bay of Bengal. It’s not inside Chilika lagoon as has been widely reported in local media. It’s near to Rajhans island of Chilika but inside the sea. Mechanical snag of the vessel is the cause.
