Malkangiri: As part of its policy of zero tolerance to corruption and irregularities, the Malkangiri administration has cancelled the mining lease tenders of 48 minor minerals today. This comes after the Southern Range Revenue Divisional Commissioner recommended for the cancellation of the tenders after a thorough investigation into the matter. Collector Vishal Singh has issued orders in this regard.
Serious allegations of irregularity were leveled against former Collector Yeddula Vijay for showing favors to a particular company. Vijay however was later transferred.
