Malkangiri: Odisha Police, BSF Set up Company Operating Base at Gurasetu in Swabhiman Anchal

Malkangiri: In a remarkable step in combating Left Wing Extremism (LWE), Odisha Police and BSF have set up a COB (Company Operating Base) at Gurasetu, Swabhiman Anchal in Malkangiri district.

This along with Panasput was being used by them as their ideological headquarters.

A team of BSF, Special Operation Group (SPG) and Indian Reserve Battalion with DIG BSF and SP Malkangiri have reached Gurasetu in Swabhiman Anchal on Saturday to set up the COB for BSF.

With this new BSF COB, people of the area will feel more secure, said Odisha Director General of Police Abhay.

The DGP has congratulated to all security forces and their brave soldiers and leaders for the initiative.

Earlier today, the DGP visited Kandhamal and reviewed the LWE situation in the district along with Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Nabarangpur districts.

He visited the Khamankhol Company Operating Base of CRPF along with SDG Kuldeep Singh, CRPF, Director Intelligence R K Sharma, IG Operations Amitabh Thakur and IG CRPF.
